Does LashJoy Academy have a Covid-safe policy in place?

Yes. We take the safety of our staff, student’s and guests very seriously at LashJoy Academy.

In addition to this, LashJoy Academy also engages an external company to conduct a WHS audit on a yearly basis to ensure safety and compliance.

Do I need to supply my own models for my course?

No, if you are unable to provide your own lash models we can supply them for you via our advertising at $35 each. This is a popular option for our interstate students who may not know anyone in Brisbane who can model for them.

Do you have payment plans available?

Yes, all courses offered by LashJoy Academy are able to be paid for using one of our direct debit easy payment plans.

How do the payment plans work?

After the initial course enrolment deposit has been paid you will be sent a link to set up your direct debit payment plan through our partners Payleadr which will commence the following week.

Payment plans are set up as a weekly direct debit unless otherwise arranged and you can choose to use a credit/debit card or bank account for the payments to be deducted from.

Whilst you do not need to have paid for your course in full prior to attending, you do need to have a good payment history and be 100% up to date with payments otherwise we may need to reschedule your course to a later date.

Payment plans attract 10% interest and a one off $10 establishment fee which is incorporated in the weekly payment amount.

How do I enrol in a course?

Step 1) Select your course dates and preferred course payment method and proceed to checkout.

Step 2) You'll then receive a confirmation email with a link to complete your student enrolment form.

Step 3) Once your enrolment form has been submitted you'll be redirected to set up your direct debit payment plan with Payleadr. (if applicable)

If you have any questions about the enrolment process feel free to contact us via training@lashjoyacademy.com.

Will I be qualified to apply eyelash extensions after attending the course?

As the lash industry is not regulated in Australia there is no requirement to be "nationally accredited" in order for someone to apply eyelash extensions, so yes you will be qualified and able to work as a Lash Stylist.

The certificate you receive upon successfully completing this course will allow you to source the appropriate insurances needed and we're happy to assist with this process through our contacts.

For international students, as different states have different regulations relating to the eyelash extension industry it's your responsibility to check with your respective Council, State Board of Cosmetology or other health regulations and guidelines to ensure you meet your local industry compliance standards.

Are LashJoy Academy courses “nationally accredited”?

No, they are not. As the Eyelash Extension industry is not regulated here in Australia there is no need (or benefit) in attending a nationally accredited course in terms of attaining a higher level of expertise, knowledge or confidence as a Lash Stylist.

It's worth mentioning that LashJoy Academy was crowned the winner of the 2019 “Educator of the Year – Organisation” award at the Australian Beauty Industry Awards, surpassing all of the nationally accredited course providers in Australia.

Can I cancel or reschedule my course once booked?

Yes, you can. LashJoy Academy allows students to reschedule their course to a later date provided at least 30 days’ notice is given in writing.

If a course needs to be rescheduled more than once, or inside of 30 days from the course start date a re-enrolment fee may apply.

What happens if I need to cancel my course?

Once a course has been booked all students have a 7 day cooling off period whereby they can cancel and receive a full refund. After the cooling off period has expired, courses that are cancelled will not receive a refund, however they can be rescheduled provided sufficient notice is given.

Refer to cancellation policy for more details.

Who are the LashJoy Academy courses facilitated by?

All classic and volume eyelash extension training courses are facilitated by LashJoy CEO and Lead Educator, Joy Crossingham.

In addition, our senior educator Lucy Knott assists all classes during practical sessions to ensure all students have ample time with our educators.

4 Day Ultimate Brow Mastery is facilitated by LashJoy Academy senior educator, Lucy Knott.

What is the difference between the 4 and 5 day Classic Lash Mastery courses?

The key differences between our 4 and 5 day courses is that the 4 day course does not include the module covering Pricing, Social Media Marketing and Business covered on the 4th day.

There is also 1 less 3 hour supervised model practice.

What is the difference between the 2 and 3 day Volume Lash Mastery courses?

These two courses are very similar in that they both teach LashJoy methods for how to create handmade Russian volume lashes, however, our 3 day course takes things to another level with more advanced classic and hybrid lash application techniques and an additional 4 hour supervised model practice session to perfect your newly acquired skills.

Also, during the 3 day course we cover pricing, social media marketing and business strategy.

What course should I enrol in if I have zero lash or beauty experience?

Our most popular and most comprehensive course for complete beginners is our 5 Day Classic Lash Mastery Course.

If attending an in-person course in Brisbane is not an option, our Classic Lash Mastery Online course which covers the same content is a great alternative.

What kind of support does LashJoy Academy provide post training?

Post training support is something we really excel at because we know that’s where it’s needed most particularly in the first year of a new Lash Stylists career.

Unlike many lash trainers who are in reality full time Lash Stylists who occasionally do training on the side but have little spare time for post training student support, LashJoy Academy is 100% a Lash Training Academy that specialises in teaching and developing lash superstars!

Not only do we have an entire team working in various departments of the academy to ensure every event runs to perfection, we also have full time staff employed purely to look after our students post training for as long as needed.

As we often say “our students are our brand”. So, the more confident and successful our student's are, the more successful we can be.

We are ultra aware that you can’t have one without the other which is probably why close to 50% off our course enrolments are referral based.

Why are the beginner courses 4 or 5 days in duration when others are only 1 or 2 days?

In a short, because it wouldn’t be possible to teach someone how to apply eyelash extensions correctly and safely in any less than 4 full days.

In the early days of eyelash extensions when there was very limited knowledge available, the courses were very short (often just 1 or 2 days at the most) and they barely scraped the surface as to what is required to apply eyelash extensions safely and to a high standard.

1 or 2 days just is not enough time to cover everything that needs to be covered in order for you to leave confident in your fundamental techniques, knowledgeable about products, allergies, hygiene, refills/removals, styling, consultations and about 1000 other essential things!

If you have previously attended a 1 day course you most likely are nodding your head in agreement right now.

Can I learn Classic & Volume lashing in the same course?

Unfortunately, not. Whilst there are some courses around that will try to combine these two it is not recommended.

From our experience very few students will leave confident in both techniques and will struggle for many months to come because they tried to rush their learning.

It’s important to note that “Volume lashing” is significantly more difficult than classic lashing as it is a very different technique which requires the stylist to have certain fundamentals perfected beforehand.

Think of it is how we learn to walk. First we learn to crawl, then we learn to walk.

Attempting to learn Classic and Volume lashing in a single course as a complete beginner would be like trying to run a marathon before you had learnt how to crawl.

As a guide, we find our Classic students are often ready to attend a Volume course within 3-6 months after completing their beginners course (provided they are lashing frequently).

Why are LashJoy Academy courses more expensive than others on the market?

There are many reasons, but essentially it comes down to results. We have a proven track record in producing countless exceptionally talented, award winning and successful Lash Stylists over many years.

This comes down to our unrivalled eyelash extension specific experience that enables us to teach things that most other educators either don’t know, or haven’t learnt yet.

We also know that our mentoring and support lasts well beyond each student's initial 2-5 day training course with us and we factor this in as well. Our student's can always count on us for advice, to answer their questions and more.

Combine all this with a lifetime 20% discount at LashJoy and many other benefits that our students receive and it's easy to see the true value in what our Academy offers.

How many students are in each class?

Typically, we cap our classes at no more than 8 attendees with 2 educators, however, due to Covid-19 restrictions we have reduced our maximum number of attendees per class to 6.

Where can I see work created by LashJoy trained Artists?

A great place to see some of the amazing work produced by our student’s during training is via our Instagram accounts @lashjoy_ and @joylashstylist

Search our “highlights”. Another popular hashtag used by LashJoy trained artists is #lashjoyartist so check that one out, too!

I’m already qualified in applying classic lashes, can I still attend your Volume Lash Mastery training?

Yes, absolutely. At least 50% of the students who attend our Volume and Hybrid Lash Mastery courses have completed their initial classic training with another provider and that’s completely fine.

Just be open to learning new techniques and you’ll get a lot of benefit from your time with us.
