In this LashJoy Artist Spotlight Article we get to know Georgia Munt - the talented artist and founder of Lash Abode on the Sunshine Coast. Enjoy!

So Georgia! What made you want to become a Lash Artist and what were you doing before the #lashlife took over?

I have always worked in the customer service industry and wanted to do something more fulfilling where I could make women feel beautiful everyday. I wanted to create a business that would allow flexibility and freedom for me both personally and financially.

Why did you choose to enrol with LashJoy Academy and which courses have you completed?

It was important to me when choosing a lash course and academy that they had a strong reputation and produced students that had continued on after the training to have successful lash businesses. I had decided that I wanted to learn the Russian Volume technique (handmade fans) as I wanted to have a point of difference in my business and skills and not just be “another lash tech”.

What was your experience like training with LashJoy Academy?

I had the pleasure of having Joy Crossingham personally teach me in Russian Volume. Her years of experience, knowledge and patience gave me the skills and confidence I needed to introduce this technique into my business. I continue to have ongoing support from Joy and the LashJoy Academy Eagles.

What do you think the advantages are of training with LashJoy Academy vs other training providers?

The biggest advantage of training with LashJoy Academy is the in-person, hands on training that you just cannot get from an online course. Joy has decades of experience and shares her knowledge over days in class where you learn lash extension theory and also apply extensions on live models with her support and guidance.

Tell us about your business. What year did you open and what services do you currently offer?

I have been lashing full time since 2018. My home salon is located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Palmview. I offer Classics, Hybrid and Volume eyelash extensions using the Russian Volume technique.

What are your favourite lash & brow services and why?

My favourite lash service is Volume lashes. Using either 0.05 and 0.07 I handmake the lash fans during the appointment to create a set that is customized for each client. Volume can be bold or can be light - I love that I can create exactly what my clients desire.

What's next for you and your business?

I would love to open a salon on the Sunshine Coast that specialises in handmade only eyelash extensions and have a trained team that reflects my existing business values and care for clients.
